Day 1: Nairobi to Embu
The event kicked off at the iconic Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi at 6:00 AM. Participants were energized by an opening ceremony that included remarks from Jasiri Jungle International representatives and well-wishers. Cyclists embarked on the journey, traveling through scenic routes with multiple hydration and rest points to ensure safety and comfort. The first day concluded in Embu, where the cyclists rested in preparation for the final leg of the journey.
Day 2: Embu to Meru
On the second day, the cyclists resumed their ride, arriving at Meru Hospice in the afternoon. At the hospice, participants engaged with children battling cancer and their families in a heartwarming interaction.
Activities at Meru Hospice
- Gift Distribution: Cyclists and organizers presented personalized gifts to children, spreading cheer and hope.
2. Child Cancer Care Packs: Essential care items, including hygiene products and comfort items, were distributed to the children.
3. Take-Home Dry Food Packages: Families received food hampers to alleviate immediate nutritional needs.
4. Financial Support: Monetary assistance was provided to families to help offset medical and living expenses.
5. End-Year Party: A festive celebration brought joy to children and families. Activities included games, music, and a special holiday meal.
Impact Achieved
